And what the new webmasters do?

…Are struggling still to find their way through this complicated area of science.

How to Convert More Traffic into Sales is not something predictable… it has nothing to do with wishes and dreams you might have about making sales with your website traffic! It’s precisely scientific.

However, implement these scientific steps to get your website running you can convert more traffic into sales on your website:

Step 1 – Understand Your Market and Competition

By choosing your Market and Competition you determine your target audience as well. Keep in mind that there are different age groups, genders, ethnicities, and political affiliation that respond differently to certain ways of advertising. So ask yourself this before determine the type of advertising that is right for you.

Step 2 – Understand Your Customer

Where does your target audience live? Where do they go to school or work? How much are they willing to spend for your service or product? What are their wants and need’s?
Why don’t you ask your customers what they want and then give it to them?

Step 3 – Develop Your Marketing Message (USP – Unique Sales Proposition)

Clearly define why your visitors should buy from you and how your product or service stands out from the crowd. Your marketing message not only tells your prospect what you do, but persuades them to become your customer. You should develop two types of marketing messages. Your first marketing message should be short and to the point. The second type is your complete marketing message that
will be included in all your marketing materials and promotions.

Step 4 – Know Your Niche

Don’t just pick up the niche but spend some time to learn it inside out. Don’t say that your target customer is ‘everybody’ otherwise nobody will be your customer. The market is jam packed with competition. If you want more chances to succeed jump up and down in a small puddle than a big ocean. Carve out a specific niche and dominate that it. Don’t you consider moving on to a second niche before you’ve dominated the first one!

Step 5 – Set Sales and Marketing Goals

Setting goals are critical to your success. A ‘wish’ isn’t a goal before it hasn’t been written down. If you don’t written your goals, you’re still just wishing for success. Create your goals using the SMART formula. Ensure that
your goals are, (1) Sensible, (2) Measurable, (3) Achievable, (4) Realistic, and (5) Time specific.

Step 6 – plan your online BUSINESS – your Website

Create professional looking website. Pick the template alignment and color, background color does it make any difference at all? font colors and sizes; plan EASY and Convenient Navigation. Did you register a domain? Does your URL contain the term “buy”?

Step 7 – Plan your website usability

Define the easiest navigation through your site that ensures best conversion of traffic hitting your site. Does a menu on the right side convert better then on the left side of the page? Shall you use a top navigation? Shall you use dropdown menus or static menus perform better? Do you need links at the bottom of the mage? Shall you use images for better navigation or text links convert much better? There are so many key points to consider :) Every page on your website – regardless of its purpose or content – needs to guide your visitor to the next step. Take your visitor by the hand to the check out to close a sale.

Step 8 – Create Killer Content

When you create content use this few tips to get best conversion:

  1. Place your main offer in the top fold of the page
  2. Add more affiliate links with persuasive anchor text
  3. Create painful, focused content play on emotions:
    • Fear – Buy now while it last!
    • Envy, Jealousy – Buy now before your neighbors do!!
    • Pride – Imagine how jealous your friends will be!!
    • Need – Shop Acme grocery store! Feed your kids before they go nuts!
    • Suspense – This one is killer… Keep people waiting!

Step 9 – start building credibility and become authority in your niche.

So many times I see so called “Gurus” misleading people and convincing to start their home based online business saying: “You don’t have to be an expert… you don’t have to know anything…”
As a matter a fact, when you build your website, soon you will discover that you have to be an expert and you actually have to be an authority that has a something to say in your niche, otherwise who will listen to your recommendation? Who’ll buy from you? Would you buy from someone not competent?

These are only a few key points to consider if you want convert more traffic into sales. So I’ll bet you want to know more, don’t you?
