It happen that regardless of the numerous changes you made to your landing page you couldn’t increase the numbers of people taking an action that you aimed to them - you can’t get conversions.

And do you know what is really frustrating? The knowing, that it probably wasn’t your offer or design, price or content but wrong keywords.

Need proof? It is not a secret that some keyword phrases have commercial intent while others don’t.

So, how do you figure out which keyword phrases have commercial intent and which one doesn’t? You can use a so many tools available today to discover how commercial your keyword phrase is.

So, with all these tools in arsenal not being able to find the right keywords to target is not an issue at all.

The knowing, what to do with this tools and how to discoverer the right keywords you have to target to, is the only issue in this case.

Each keyword comes with a large data, such as cost per click, change in cost per click, advertiser competition, monthly search volumes, average search volume and etc.

I know how easy it is to get lured into number crunching, formulating budgets and planning campaigns. Seems like, the phrase “keyword research” makes people to look for an endless list of keywords based on “relevance” and “traffic volume”.

And people do this big mistake and grab everything they find… generic, long tail, short tail, monkey tail … well, you get the picture.

But… Unfortunately, soon they discover that with this “impressive” list of keywords in their hands, they only can bring thousands of visitors to their landing page but they can’t convert — no sales, signup, opt-ins, or whatever…

So what can you do? How you can find the keywords with a commercial intent?

Simple — at first, do Google search for each keyword fomr your list and see if there are any Adwords ads running on SERP’s.

If there are any then do check how many ads are there – the more, the better. If there are 6-8 or more — it’s possible that money is made with this keywor; if less then I would say move on, check another keyword from your list.

Now, even if you found keywords that many Adwords ads target to, it still doesn’t mean you can make money with them.

The best way to measure the effectiveness of a keyword phrase is to Test it.

You must test each and every one of them — test your keyword research.

You don’t know anything concrete that proves that your keyword can actually bring sales to your site until it has been tested. This testing process includes — the effectiveness of your landing page convert the traffic into customers.

The best and fastest way to test a keywords is to setup and run a short PPC campaign pointed to your landing page. This is a simple way — you can measure the effectiveness of the entire sales process — the keyword and your landing pages, sales funnel, etc.

Even though this isn’t rocket science, you have to follow along to get it right and avoid unnecessary money spending and frustration. You can’t and shouldn’t trust your intuition… you have to test and base your conclusions on numbers. Hey, it’s a numbers game, remember?

So, by running the test PPC campaign, you’ve identified which keywords can make you money. You simply take these keywords (which haven’t been SEO’d) and optimize them for Search Engines.

If done properly you should be able to get Top Ten rankings in 30 days or even less.

Now, since you have tested and proven method to SEO the right keywords, you can rest assured that you know they can make you money and your efforts never wasted for nothing.
