Numerous eBooks, videos, blogs, audios have been produced on how to make money online. The bitter truth is that, no one tells you that it takes serious work and commitment to find success online. Online success is generally speaking for those who are programmed to succeed online. You either have to invest your time or your money or both. In most cases you have to invest both.

This is true for those who are trying to blog to online success. I can speak authoritatively on this as one who has started a number of blogs, that it took me a very long time to start making money from my blogs. During this period I had overhead costs and I had to meet my domestic expenses.

It takes about 6 months to start earning some money online if you choose to use free methods to promote your blog or website. If you are really consistent with your writing, this is the amount of time that you need to have your content showing up in searches. This is a slow method but I can assure you that this will give you long term sustainability. Just imagine how much content you would have if you posted 2 or 3 blogs per week for 6 months.

If you opt to use paid methods to promote your blog or website you will take a much shorter time to have your content showing up in searches. I personally know that carrying out research and writing great content takes a good amount of time.

We do not take online business seriously. Many of us think online success comes in a matter of days. No, it does not. Internet is full of stories of those who have succeeded online. For those it is possible to earn 6 figure incomes in hours or a few days. Such success comes to those who have already invested a lot of time and money in their internet activities. We rarely read stories of those who have failed online. You will agree with me that there are millions out there who have failed to make it online.

I know many people who started on their “blogging to the Bank journey” but gave up after posting consistently for one month. They were made to believe that internet success comes in 24 hours or 48 hours. If you carry out a search under the make money online niche you will find keywords like; make money online fast, make money online quick, make your first million quick and many others.

When it comes to making money online, we all think that there are shortcuts. I received hundreds of free gifts of eBooks with titles like “How to make $1000 in one hour”, How to make $60,000 in 48 hours. Everyone makes finding online success sound as easy as enjoying a good meal.

We can understand how to make money online by looking at how a baby grows. The baby cannot sit in the first few months after birth, then after some time it struggles to sit down. Again after some time the baby manages to do it without support. Curiosity will make it start to crawl. After some time the baby manages to stand up but this comes after so many attempts. When the baby is comfortable in the standing position, it starts attempting to walk but with a lot of difficulty and with support it learns to walk much faster. Even without support it learns to walk but not as quickly!

Online success is just like that. We all begin our online journey just like babies and grow gradually. With support our online success comes much faster.

There are some basic things that we need to do in order to succeed online, whether we are supported or not. Believe me many of them are boring. Online success comes faster with support and you can speed up the process by using paid methods.

In order to succeed in your blogging venture you have to research content and keywords to blog about, you have to get traffic to the content and you have to convert your visitors to money. Online success is measured by how much money you make. The amount of money you make depends on the quality of your content and the quality of your traffic.

Online success is a journey. Daily consistent action is the key to online success.
